“When the soul of a man is born in this country there are nets flung at it to hold it back from flight. You talk to me of nationality, language, religion. I shall try to Fly by those nets.”

FBTN discuss a United Ireland on The Irish Passport podcast

Back for its second season, The Irish Passport is a fantastic podcast about the culture, history and politics of Ireland run by journalist Naomi O’Leary and historian Tim McInerney.

GabeNathan and Kieran appeared on the latest episode which discusses the debate surrounding a United Ireland, which has been reignited by the Brexit negotiations.

Kieran describes the political appeal of staying in the United Kingdom despite his more Nationalist upbringing, Gabe talks about being an Irish-speaking Nationalist from Belfast living in Dublin and Nathan explains growing up in Protestant East Belfast but feeling romantically Irish now he lives abroad.

We're on at about the 34 minute mark.

The Irish Passport is well worth a listen, so check them out here and follow them on Twitter!
